What's the big deal about writing?

We're neither researchers nor journalists. We don't need to use jargons or  fancy words. Casual easy words will do.Why don't we start with 'anything about ourselves'? We will end up getting stuck , however hard we may try to go on,  with what we don't know. When we talk about what's going on in my daily life, such what I eat, where I go, and what I like...etc., we become overtalkers so often until the one I am with stops me!  That's why we can be a good writer  at least about ourselves not about the stories of a far-off world. I  have been keeping an English journal ever since I was in high school not just because I loved it but also I thought it would prevent any of my family from opening my diary and reading it. And I will be going on in English unless I find reasons to stop it. It's just a lot of fun to play in English. So is reading, learning new expressions from books. So is writing, trying using them in my writings. I can't say I don't care about grammar when I read or write. Honestly, I do care, not only with my students, but also whatever I do in English. The thing is I just don't care about caring about grammar. I can enjoy even sloving tricky grammar questions as they are.  haha!

Stories to write down in your journal might  casually start with the weather of the day, for example,

  • It rained all night. (밤새 비가 왔어.)
  • It's rainy again today. (오늘도 비가 오네.)
  • It's raining and I like it. (지금 비가 오고 있어서 너무 좋다.)
  • I'm watching the rain falling down. (비가 내리는 걸 보고 있어.)
  • I love hearing the sound of rain. (비오는 소리를 듣는 게 너무 좋아.)
  • Rain makes me calm down. (비가 오면 마음이 편안해져.)
  • It strated to rain when I got on the bus. (버스를 타니까 비가 오기 시작했어.)
  • I'm afraid it's going to rain soon. (비가 올거 같아 걱정이네.)
  • I had to walk in the rain without an umbrella. (우산도 없이 빗속을 걸어야 했어.)
  • I've got a cold after I got wet in the rain. (비에 젖어서 감기에 걸리고 말았어.)
  • Never forget to carry an unbrella on a rainy day! (비오는 날에는 우산을 꼭 챙가자!)
  • It's not be a good idea to travel in spite of the heavy rain. (폭우에도 여행을 가는 것은 좋은 생각이 아니야.)
  • I'm sorry vegetables and fruits prices are soaring due to heavy rains. (폭우로 채소와 과일 가격이 급등하고 있어 안타까워.)
  • When will it stop raining? (언제 비가 그칠까?)

Why don't you give it a try with your own sentences with rain or anything you like?

Wish you the best luck!
